We had a fabulous day yesterday with Doug graduating! The girls did a fabulous job with the 3 hour program (there were 1,000 graduates) but Lilly did get a little bored about halfway through.

stood up for you when they asked all parents of the graduates to stand.

in his robes but Taylor was nice enough to share.
And now on to the other great accomplishment we've experienced this week. We have a backyard! (Almost, we're short about 20 square feet - oops). Here's a little montage to portray the work in progress.

but by the end of the summer it was completely full of dead weeds that were about 2 feet tall.

We seriously could not be happier with how it turned out and now we're just keeping our fingers crossed that it will grow! Thanks again to Dad and JD (and Jeffy) for helping us! We definitely could not have done it without you! Thanks for the lawnmower too mom and dad - you're the best! Once it gets good and settled we'll have to have a yard warming party or something - assuming that it doesn't die. We'll keep you posted!
Your yard looks fabulous guys! We'll pray for you that your sod doesn't die and you can pray for us that our tree doesn't die! We loved the pictures of the grad too...CONGRATS on a great week!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Doug!! I think that is so awesome and I'm excited for you guys to be out of the student mode for a while! The yard looks amazing too. I hope you can get tons of use out of it this summer and that the weather doesn't get to hot while your doing it!
ReplyDeleteYay- it looks soooooo good. It already looks way better than our sod did when we laid it. Yay!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah- congrats Doug!!! Isn't being done such a wonderful feeling? Do you know Paul Winward- he is in our ward...
ReplyDeleteWay to go on graduating! I'm in the life long boat for that one, so I'm hoping I can still hang in there. As for the yard, I'm just jealous you own a home and you can't find one around here that even has a backyard. It's always nice to see the end product after all the time and energy that goes into it. Nice Work!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on both Doug! Graduating is awesome and so is your yard. You rock!
ReplyDeleteI remember when you said he had switched. All worth it now right!? Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThat yard looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to DOUG on the huge accomplishments that come with graduating. WOW-that Lily is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen!
Congrats on graduation...and congrats to Joanna for sticking it out with him. The lawn looks great!
