Christmas 2014!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas....
And Christmas morning!! Dad climbed in bed with these crazies!! Sophia was up at 4!! We made her wait until 6.  It was still way too early for me!
And for this guy too.  He preferred to sleep in.
After reading the scriptures we took a stairs picture before heading for the presents.

Lilly sizing up the gifts.  I always love their faces right when they see the presents.
 First we did stockings.
This guy was pretty content with what he got.
Then it was time for some gifts.  I love this picture because you can see all the fun cards we got from such nice people!!
Mabel got her Elsa Make-up and was sooooo excited!!!
Sophia got the make-up kit she wanted
And Lilly got the science kit she asked for.
Doug got some fun things and this awesome shirt!
I got some great things including a Shark vacuum that I wasn't expecting.  I've loved it!! It's the gift I didn't know I needed!  Lilly also gave us this great handprint ornament.
 The aftermath!
 Lewis eying his car track.
After opening gifts at our house we went to Grandpa and Grandma Millers where we got completely spoiled!!!
Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Wilkins' where we were spoiled further (and of course I didn't take pictures).  Then we went to my brother Jason's house for a delicious prime rib dinner. These girls were having a complete blast with cousins in the hot tub!
I brought along a Buche de Noel from Gourmandise.
And finally. I'm prett sure this was Doug's favorite gift.  It's from a movie called "Drive" that he loves.
The next day we slept in and played toys.  That afternoon we saw "Into the Woods" with some of Doug's family.  We spent the rest of the day and pretty much all day yesterday lying around being sick!! I have a horrible cold and Lilly, Mabel and Lewis had upset tummies.  Not the best time to be sick but what can you do! At least we made it through Christmas!

Some Pre Christmas Fun

This little girl never ceases to crack me up.  Here she is in her latest dress up masterpiece.
Last week Doug's sister was in town.  We took advantage of her visit and had some fun with her! On Monday we went to the curiosity museum at Thanksgiving Point. My girls could not get enough of baby Will!!
Lewis and Savannah enjoyed the water table.
This is Lewis' favorite part of the whole museum. Unfortunately he's pretty sure he owns the place and has a hard time sharing the wheelbarrows!
After that we went to see the reindeer at Thanksgiving Point.  They were so cool to see!
We learned some interesting things about them like their antlers can grow an inch a day!
The next day we laid low and then went to Salt Lake at night to see the lights.  It was fun but just a tiny bit crowded.
Doug ended up dropping me off and took a sick Lewis home so we all squished in my brothers car back to our other car where we'd met up with Doug earlier.  Lexie took a fun Snapchat of them all squished together! For the record, I did volunteer to sit in the back.
The next day (Christmas Eve) we went sledding up American Fork Canyon with Doug's family.  It was so fun!
Doug took Lilly down this huge hill and fortunately, they only went once.
This little guy wasn't feeling super great but still tried to have a good time. After his first run he kept saying "Car, car, car..."  so he enjoyed a nice nap in the car while the rest of us sledded.
This girl could have gone all day long.  She loved it!  And preferred to go by herself.
Mabel loved it too as long as she had someone to ride with.
It was so beautiful up there!!
After that we came home and watched "Home Alone" and then sprinkled reindeer food on the grass before heading to Grandma Millers.
We had a yummy dinner there and enjoyed time with family and then opened our Christmas PJ's!
Later that night we came home and opened our Pixie presents.  This year my sister Melissa had us.  She sent us an awesome panini press and some games.  We don't own Headbands and had never played it but we loved it!! This little guy was so happy to be part of the action.
Then it was off to bed for some sleep so the man in red could come!

Doug's Birthday and The Week Before Christmas

On the 15th we celebrated Doug's Birthday.  He got some coasters that had real movie film stock in them and some gift cards. His nice parents watched our kids at night and we went to dinner at Thai Mango.
He also got some yummy peanut butter things and we had peanut butter bars and peanut butter ice cream with his family after dinner.
A few days later Sophia's class put on "A Christmas Carol".  They did a great job.  She was one of the narrators.
Sophia with her awesome teacher Mr. Ewell after the play.
Grandparents came to watch too!! Doug's mom came earlier in the day but I forgot to get a picture with her.
A few days later Mabel had a Christmas performance at preschool.  They sang some cute songs for the parents.
I love the elf hats they made.
Here's another thing she made this year.  My friend had the idea to make these and I was happy to take part.  I thought it turned out pretty cute!
This little Tootsie finally lost her first tooth the week before Christmas too! She was so excited!
 Random Lewis selfie.
The Friday before Christmas I helped with Lilly's Grinch party at school.   We played Grinch bowling,
 decorated grinch cookies,
 played Grinch bingo,
Don't eat Grinch, and pin the heart on the Grinch.  It was a super fun party and I think she had a good time.
After that I took my girls to see "A Christmas Carol" at the Hale Theater in Orem. It was awesome!! They did a great job and it was fun to see. Jacob Marley was a little spooky but really good!
The next day we had the annual Ivins Christmas party with Doug's mom's family.  It's always a fun time.  We do the nativity and Santa comes.  Lewis wasn't so sure of him this year.
 Lilly approved though!
 And so did Sophia.
Here's Mabel telling him that she wants an Elsa make-up kit.
 And Lewis screaming bloody murder.
Santa brought them all Beenie Boos. I think they were pleased.
Mabel was the star in the nativity and took her job very seriously.  She held that thing up the whole time!
Doug's sister Leda and brother-in-law David were Mary and Joseph.  Their baby Will played Jesus.  Leda sang "Mary's Lullaby" to him and is was beautiful!!
