Happy Birthday to Sophia!

Yesterday was Sophia's birthday and she got spoiled!!! The night before we put streamers outside her door.
The birthday fairy also left a few gifts in her room and upstairs.
She requested breakfast in bed but had a hard time sleeping so she ended up on the couch.  That didn't stop her from getting her request! She even told me everything she wanted.
One of her costumes was an Elsa wig and crown that fit Mabel pretty well.
And notice the photo bomb of Lewis with the plastic wrap.  That's pretty much a daily occurrence around here.
Later in the morning Doug took her to the pet store.  She's been begging for one forever so we finally gave in. This is Nibblet.
Hi Nibblet! (What were we thinking?!!)  JK.
She requested a chocolate rose cake so we did out best.
She also has been begging for a trip to the spa.  I found a deal for a mini trip for girls so we took advantage of it.  I told her she could bring 1 person and she chose Lilly.
 Firs they got mini facials
 And then mini pedicures
 and finally mini manicures.
The finished product. I love having little girls!! Even if they are spoiled like crazy!!!!
Later that night all of Doug's and my family that are in Utah came over for a taco bar.  Did I mention she's spoiled!!!
It was a fun night and we're grateful to everyone who came.  Lewis was a good sport but was not a fan of the Elsa wig.
Happy Birthday sweet Sophia!! Can't believe you're 9!!!

First Week of School

Tuesday was the first day of school!! They were all ready and so excited to go.
These 2 were feeling left out so they wanted their picture taken too.
And Mabel had to hold a paper.
All ready to go in!
This picture kills me.  Could she be any more excited!!
Her classroom has a market theme and the first day was the Grand Opening.  Way too cute. The teacher also picks an "Employee of the Week" to be the helper for the week. Love it.
Later that night we went to Doug's parents house to see his sister one last time before they headed home.  His mom put some treats out from Brazil and we caught Mabel stashing a few away for later.
On Wednesday we went to register for Mabel's preschool!! It's so darling.  They have a new location this year and I love it.
Lewis loved it too.
The poor guy had some new pants on and had trouble all day keeping them up!
Later that afternoon Sophia and Mabel went to their first horseback riding lesson!
They started by brushing the horses before they put the saddles on
And then they got their helmets and it was time to get on!
They had a great time and can't wait to go back.
The other day Lilly came home with pictures she drew for each letter of her name.  Sophia was pretty sure it was the best picture of an ice cube that she's ever seen.
Here's a random one I found on my phone. I love shots like this.
On Friday night we went to Squire's summer party. They had face painting and the girls loved it. Pretty fancy too!
And finally here's a quilt that only took me about 4 years to finish.  My mom did the binding which helped a lot too!!

They're home and Last Day of Summe rBreak!

The day after we got home we headed back up to the airport to welcome Doug's parents home from their 2 year mission to Brazil!
We donned out Brazil shirts and waited (in the wrong terminal) for their arrival!
Luckily Doug's brother called to let us know we were in the wrong terminal and ran over. We made it before they arrived thank goodness.  Lilly with Grandma.
After the airport we headed back to their house for some more visiting.
Kimber had put op these balloons with all the grandkids names on them.  Too cute.
While we were visiting at his parents his sister Jenna showed up from Oregon and surprised everyone!! It was a wonderful surprise.
 Fun souvenirs!
Most of the grand kids with their gifts from Brazil! So happy to have them home!
And now onto the last day of summer break.  Lewis discovered yogurt while we were in Seattle and loves it!!
We headed to the splash pad with our Oregon cousins who were in town. Grandpa and Grandma Wilkins came too and it was a blast.
 This boy loved it!
The kids got into a big water fight and loved it.  After that we ran to the girls' school to meet our teachers!! Here's Lilly with Mrs. Taylor.  She's so nice and Lilly is so lucky!
And Sophia with Mr. Ewell. We've heard great things about him and are really excited!! She was super bummed because her three best friends ended up in the same class together without her but she had a good attitude about it.
And now on to the first week of school!
