Little bit of summer fun

Last week we had a few bikes that had flats that needed to be repaired.  Lewis was a really good helper.
Sophia also did a water experiment with M&M's that she found online.  If you look where the blue ones are you can see one of the "m's" floating on top of the water.  Freaky!
We also got out the pools last Saturday.  Lewis was pretty sure it was the best thing that's ever happened to him.
Lilly also had her end of the year recital.  They were part of the 4th of July parade and did a tap number to "You're a Grand old Flag".
She was pretty excited for it!
 and did pretty great.
Last week we also took the Activity Day girls down to the Manti Temple.  It was kind of a drive but I think they all had a good time.
We've also been enjoying a little bit of this in our house.  Go Brazil!
And finally this little cutie has been in heaven lately. She got this rocking horse from our Young Men yard sale and then got a horse shirt and cowboy (she informs us that she's not a cowgirl! She may be a girl but she's still a cowboy!) hat.  I love her...
Here's a video of Lilly's performance:

Park City and Salt Lake

This last weekend Doug and I were lucky enough to have a little getaway with his work up to Midway/Park City.  We got to ride the rides and the trams. It was such a fun time and so nice to have a little break from the kids!
Of course no trip to Midway is complete without visiting the crater.
Yesterday we went and picked up our kids and then went to use a groupon to the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake that expires at the end of the month.  I was a little bummed that we missed the chocolate exhibit.  Oh well.  It was still an amazing museum!  This display was awesome.  I think it was 4 stories tall!
Sophia in front of the totem pole.
Lilly was not a fan of the dinosaurs.
This one was huge!  Crazy long neck!
This one was a pretty good size too.
I thought this little wall of skulls was pretty fun to see too.
These little guys were about the size of ducks or other waterfowl.  We were trying to figure out if they were replicas or real because those were some tiny bones!
The girls "exploring" an archaeology site.
The view from the top.  Such a fun place!
My brother and sister-in-law and kids were nice enough to take our little runts.  They are the best!  I kept getting these snap chats from my nephew.  It looks like they all had a good time!  Thank you again Dylan and Tonya! (and Andy!!)

Musical Theater Performance

Last night Sophia had her musical theater performance and she did great!  They did "It's a Hard Knock Life" from Annie
and she did a good job picking up all the rags.
They also did a few numbers from Matilda the Musical.  It's kind of hard to see but she's on the merry go round in the back.  She was pretty excited to get to ride on it.  They sang "When I Grow Up". It's a pretty cute song.
They also did another song where Bruce from the musical eats a big chocolate cake.  I'm kind of thinking I need to see the musical to understand all of this...
And here she is after.  She did great!
Here's a few excerpts from both songs.

The zoo!

Yesterday we celebrated the first day of summer by going to the zoo!  Daddy even got to come with us! It was cool to see the new Savannah exhibit.  The train was finally running again too but there was a HUGE line for it so we decided to wait until next time.  Here's Sophia pointing to the zebras.
We watched the elephant show which is always fun.
A lot the animals were pretty close for a good photo opp. It was cool!  The rhinos were right by their viewing window so we got good close ups of their faces but those must be on Doug's phone...
We also got to see the sea lion and seal show.  It was so cool.  These are probably my favorite animals at the zoo.
And of course no trip to the zoo is complete without a ride on the carousel.
Lewis enjoyed it too. He seriously thought he'd died and gone to heaven!
Sophia searched for the snow leopard and was lucky enough to snag it!

Making Messes

This doesn't really have to do with a mess but I finally got a bike trailer!  I since have found a newer and better one at my neighbors yard sale so I actually sold this one.  I love having one though!  Except for when Lilly won't ride her bike and insists on riding with Lewis and MAbel.
This one is a little blurry but this guy is working on getting all 4 molars right now and has been a little grumpy. We felt like this shirt was fitting.
Now on to the messes, this little boy loves to make a mess!  This is his favorite part of the kitchen.  The drawer above this one has all the plastic forks and spoons in it and it's so fun to dump those out too!
This happened the other day before school.  How do they think of stuff like this?!  They honestly had every pillow and cushion in the house out.
The other day I cleaned the girls room only to have it get destroyed that night by their "fashion show".  At least they look cute and are having fun right?
This is a random and not really a mess but we smoked pizza the other night and it was delicious. Definitely something we'll try again in the future!
This little girl loves a craft.  She came up with this one all on her own. Luckily it wasn't too messy.
The girls pulled out all the princesses on Sunday.  I didn't realize how many we had!
The princesses put on a play and Lilly made some signs for the fans to wave.
Later that day we made a yummy mess.  The girls picked out a princess cupcake book from the Library and each got to make something from it.  I just made 1 cake mix so they each had a few to decorate.  Luckily I did not make all of them their own full cake mix worth!
The tasting.  I think they approve.
And a bonus shot of our Girls Camp mailbox.  The theme is princess and the frog.  The girls put it all together and I thought it turned out super cute.
