Well the day started off a little rough but definitely ended up a success! This morning we took Doug to work and then Sophia got to play with grandma and grandpa while I went to a check up with Dr. Watabe. Things are great and baby #2 is growing just fine. We then came home and made some cupcakes and cleaned the house for the big celebration.
After Sophia's nap we went to get Doug from work. I shook my purse before leaving to make sure my keys were in there. We got out to the car and realized that my purse was fooling me and that the keys were safely inside the locked house. Fortunately the spare had not made it out of the locked car yet. That's good planning for you. My pregnant brain had however remembered to bring the cell phone along so I called my mom and asked her (thank you mom! I don't know if I can ever move away from family!) to rescue Doug at work. She was so nice to pick him up and bring him home. In the mean time Sophia and I waited on the porch for Daddy to come home. Luckily the stroller was locked in the shed so we couldn't go for a walk either. The best part of it all was that Sophia, having just woken up from a nap (before which I had changed her diaper and not put her pants back on) had no shoes or pants on. It made me feel right at home in Payson. It was great! It only took about 45 minutes for Doug to make it home and so we had a good bonding moment on the front porch (thanks to Liza and Lissa for talking to me and helping me pass the time!)
Once we finally made it back inside we frosted the cupcakes and finished decorating the house for the party. We had a fabulous time and are so thankful for all the friends and family who came to wish her a happy birthday. You're all the greatest! Overall, I think the day was a success. She came out with some pretty good loot! Thanks everyone!

Here's a bonus picture for ya. Right after I posted this blog I discovered Sophia had been in my makeup. Doesn't she look beautiful with a little mascara on? Thank goodness it's waterproof! She has been walking around for the past 10 minutes repeating over and over again "not a toy, not a toy". Do you think she's finally getting the message that mommy's makeup is not a toy!
P.S. I just noticed that Sophia is not the only one with a birthday today. Apparently it's Blogger's eight birthday. I didn't know blogging had been around for that long. Huh!

Happy Birthday to Sophia!

Our little girl who's almost 2!
Today was a pretty good (or pree good as Sophia would say) and normal day in the new Payson house. I put Sophia's hair in braids for the first time and so I had to document that. I also have included a few pictures of the position we found her babies in this afternoon. Something tells me we plop Sophia in front of the TV a little too often. What do you think?
Sophia is definitely looking forward to her upcoming birthday this week. She's still a little confused about her age though. When you ask her how old she is she says, "Dophia!" (Sophia). It's pretty cute. She's getting pretty good at her sentences too. This morning when Doug got in the shower she said, "Daddy cake a shower." She also told Doug "no kick me" tonight when he was tossing a ball with her. It's great to hear her talk.
Things have been pretty good in Payson thus far. Our ward is pretty small for a Utah ward. There's only about 125 families on the ward list and about 20 sisters in Relief Society. The youth and primary are big though. It's definitely a change from our Provo ward. Sophia has been doing great in nursery (or so we thought). Doug went and picked her up yesterday and asked how she was and the nursery leader said, "Um, she's kind of a bully." Well that's one way to be discrete about it! Doug told her that she was bullied in our previous ward and so now she probably feels that it's her turn to return what was given. We did have a talk when we got home about no hitting in nursery and sharing instead. We'll see if it lasts.

Sophia's Cute Curtains
My amazing and talented mom made these cute curtains for Sophia's room. They complete the Peter Rabbit theme we have going on and I think they turned out perfect! We especially love having something to block out the light in her room. Enjoy!

We're moved in! (Sort of)
Well, we are slowly but surely getting moved in. We wanted to include a few pictures of our decorated place. Enjoy! Sorry this is a very loooooong blog! The first couple are of our bedroom. The next one is Sophia's room (note the pack and play. I'm pretty sure she's going to sleep in it for the rest of her life!). The next couple are of the upstairs living area. Then there's one of the kitchen and the final ones are of the downstairs living area. I also included one of the downstairs bedroom with all of the boxes just so you don't think that we are fully moved in. Hope you're all well!

Our New House
Well we have finally completed the home buying process. What a headache! It's not something we want to do again for a very long time. We closed yesterday without too many problems and picked up the keys today. We spent the evening down there doing a little bit of light cleaning and taking it all in. Here's what we took pictures of:
1. The kitchen (the stairs to go downstairs are to the left and the front living room is in front of the kitchen)
2. The upstairs bathroom
3. Our bedroom (well, mainly a good picture of the closet)
4. The view into the kitchen and front room from Sophia's room
5. The downstairs family room
6. The cool mirror in the downstairs bathroom (I love the brick but Doug's not so sure about it. The reflection in the mirror is the towel rack on the opposite wall. It looks a little weird I know)
7. One of the closets in one of the downstairs bedrooms
8. The cool soap holders in the bathtubs
9. A bonus picture of Sophia helping us paint the entertainment center (she was putting on the primer. It ended up being black)
10. And last but not least, a picture of what the house looks like
There are two bedrooms, a laundry room, and a utility room downstairs that I didn't take pictures of. We're looking forward to the move tomorrow and will be sure to post more when we're moved in!
P.S. I fixed the baby pictures in the previous post because apparently they had an accident. If you couldn't see them before, they should be there now.

Babies, Babies, and more Babies!
We love babies in the Wilkins family. We recently welcomed two new little boys. Doug and I went and visited both of them (Andrew Craig is Jenna's son and Carson is Heather's son). They're both so cute! It's fun that they only came a day apart! Hope you're all well! Enjoy the pics. The first one is of Andrew, the next one of Carson, and the last one of Sophia and Carson. Enjoy!
P.S. We're supposed to close on our house tomorrow. We're keeping our fingers crossed and will send pictures if we do!

Slippery Sophia
So I went to check on Sophia today after she had been napping for 2 1/2 hours just to make sure things were okay. Since we are in the process of moving and we have boxes and furniture stacked everywhere she is a little freaked out to sleep in her room so we let her take naps on our bed. Anyway, I went in to check on her and discovered she had found the vaseline. She had managed to spread about half of the tub all over her body! It was great. When I walked in on her she said, "I put yotion on." She had it in her hair, on her toes, cheeks, leggies, and clothes. I'm sure I'll have a fun time getting it out of her clothes. I quickly threw her in the bath but I'm not sure it did much good since it's such a great water repellent. She may just have to be slippery for the next few days. Maybe we'll let her go play in the dirt for awhile to absorb some of the grease.
Aside from that fun adventure she's been having a fun time learning about colors. Yes my smart child who knows her numbers and alphabet so well is continuing to get smarter. So far everything is pink. On our walk this morning I tried to teach her about how the grass is green and how the sky is blue but by the end of it all she was pretty sure that everything was pink. The video demonstrates that. I also took the video right after her vaseline bath and so that's why she looks so beautiful. Hope you're all well! We're doing great. We're hoping to close on our house Tuesday and then move in Friday. We'll see how everything goes!
