Blessing Day

I just wanted to post a couple of pics from Lilly's blessing day for Grandma in Brazil. We should have thought to take our camera out while family was still here but I guess we don't think that way. Lilly did great during the blessing (even though the pictures tell a different story) and we had a fabulous time with family and friends. Thanks again for everyone for making the trip and spending time with us!

Here's a few of the girls during the photo shoot this afternoon.

Here's a picture of what it's been doing the whole afternoon here in Payson. It's been snowing for 4 straight hours and we're not sure it's going to let up. We just put down gravel in front of our house (so glad that we got it down yesterday - thanks Doug and neighbor) too bad it's now covered by 3 inches of snow!

Here's a bonus one of our Candy Land game this afternoon. We think Sophia might be a little too young to get the concept.

He did it again

I just wanted to post a picture of one of my favorite Christmas gifts. My sweet husband did a sketch of Lilly. He did one of Sophia when she was a baby as a Christmas gift and it brought me to tears. I told him he had to make a habit out of it and do one for each of our children. He told me that he was too busy this Christmas and that he wouldn't be able to get one done. He surprised me though and I love it! He's the greatest husband ever! Lilly's frame is not quite complete yet. We want to include a picture of my grandma that she was named after. Enjoy!

Pretty Good Day

I just wanted to post a couple from our fabulous day yesterday! Sophia's favorite gift (aside from her new bicycle) was an IKEA art easel that uncle Jeffy gave her. She loved it and colored for a few hours on it right after she got it. Thanks Jeffy! The girls also got new pajamas and enjoyed those as well.

Here's Doug with his favorite gift. Thanks Leda!

Here's a picture of the "Bouche de Noel" (Yule Log) cake that I made. It was complete with meringue mushrooms. I was pretty proud of myself.

This is a tea set that my mom gave to Lilly. It belonged to her mom (my grandma Lilly that we named Lilly after). My mom figured it was about 80 years old. I don't think that I'll give it to Lilly until she gets married or sometime around there. What a treasure. Thanks again mom!

Happy Winter!

We've had a fun past couple of days. We've enjoyed time with cousins and have had funn getting ready for Christmas. The other day we got quite the snow storm. It dumped about 6 inches on us and made for a fun commute! Here's Sophia the pink marshmallow enjoying the snow.

Here's one of silly Lilly.

Here's one of how Sophia fell asleep last Sunday. She was literally face down in the carpet.

Here's picture of some of the nativity characters at my mom's house. Sophia loves to play with the nativities over there. She usually puts all of the pieces at one nativity. There sure were a lot of people who came to see baby Jesus. Even baby Jesus came to see baby Jesus according to Sophia. I thought it was cute how she lined everyone up the other day. She's a funny girl.

Here's my two cute girls in their cute snowflake dresses. We took Lilly in for her 2 week check up the other day and things are looking great! She's already grown a pound and an inch. She was 50th %ile for everything. Sophia was never that big. We were happy to find all well with her. We took Sophia in also because she was acting a little cranky and had a runny nose. She had a severe ear infection and possible strep throat (they didn't check it because they said the antibiotic would cover both). Anyway we were glad we took her in and hope that she'll be feeling better on Christmas!

This afternoon we made gingerbread houses. We used Liza's friend Katie's recipe for Chocolate Gingerbread (see "Katie's Recipes" to the right for the recipe). It turned out pretty good. It was a lot of fun. I think they turned out okay. Sophia sure enjoyed it.

Finally here's a video of Sophia doing her "Cheesy Pasta" dance. She's such a funny girl and will eat anything as long as you tell her it's "cheesy". Doug and her love to do this dance because one of her favorite things to eat is cheesy pasta. Doug said this is pretty much what him and Sophia do when I'm gone. What silly kids!

A good read

Sorry for all the posts recently but I just wanted to let people know about this. I don't know how many of you have seen it yet but I thought it was cool. I was glancing through the latest conference Ensign and I noticed that they included Pres. Faust's talk that he prepared in the months before he passed away. I'm assuming that it was the one he would have given in conference. Anyway, it's really good and it's on pg 122 if your interested. I just thought I'd pass that along for those who hadn't yet seen it. Enjoy!

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

This one is for my sister Melissa who gave Lilly this beautiful sparkly dress. I love it and I think it looks great on her. Thanks again sista!

Here's a bonus one of Doug and his Twinkie Cheesecake for his birthday. The cake turned out kind of interesting. I really don't think that more fat and sugar should be added to Twinkies. It was just a bit too much. Now we know!

Silly Girls

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DOUGLAS TODAY! He's the big 21. Hee hee. WE LOVE YOU!

I just wanted to post a few of the latest and greatest from the Wilkins home.

Here's Doug and the girls getting ready to do our Advent for last Sunday. What a cute daddy and what cute girls.

Here's Cindy Lou Who in the bathtub last night. She was having a pretty good time with her hair and then looking at herself in the mirror.

Here's my two beautiful babes sporting some cute glasses.

Finally here's one of how Sophia fell asleep yesterday. She was pretty tired after having not taken nap all day! Her sister was pretty tired last night too and only got up to eat twice! I actually got a combined total of 8 hours of sleep last night! She knows how to keep her mom happy. Thank you Lilly! Let's make a habit of that!

Silly Words from a Silly Girl

I just had to take a quick moment and write a few funny things Sophia said today. For some reason she is always telling us things that President Hinckley wants us to do. For example she says, "President Hinckley says to be modest." (We've told her this a number of times after she lifts up her dress at church). Today she was asking for a cup of milk and it was taking Doug and I a couple of minutes to meet her demand. She finally blurted out "President Hinckley says I need a cup of milk." It was great. Tonight when I was changing her diaper she stuck her head between her legs and said, "Hey look! I'm a triangle!" What a girl.

Here's a picture of what she had for dinner last night. She sure loves Christmas Jello!

Here's a picture of how Lilly has spent her first few days at home. She's a pretty busy girl!

Welcome Home Baby "Willy"

We are so excited to have this new addition in our family. She has already been such a a joy and things are going so well! We got to the hospital at 5 am on Tuesday (Dec. 4 - I wasn't due until the 11th but with a scheduled c-section they took her a week early). They got me prepped and ready and I was in the operating room by 6:30. She was born at 7:00 am exactly and weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 19 1/2 inches. We named her Lilly Wilkins (after my grandma Nicholl).
This picture was taken right after she was born.

It was so fun to hear her little cry for the first time and to find out that we had another girl! I was so excited because I can do girls. They're pretty easy. I was also excited to know I didn't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe and that I can now dress my two girls alike.

They had me down to Mother/Baby by 9:00 and I really was feeling good. It was such a different experience from Sophia. It was so much more peaceful and I really felt no pain at all. It was fabulous! I would definitely go for a planned c-section any day of the week! The first day was great and we had a great time with visitors. My great grandma Miller surprised us from Arizona with my aunt Ronni and uncle Chris. It was so great to see all of them and I was glad that got to meet Lilly. The next day I did start to feel a little more pain and I was more tired. The first thing the nurse told me was that she wanted me to take 4 walks that day. And she didn't just mean walks to the bathroom. She wanted me up and down the halls. I wanted to tell her a few words of my own but I was actually really glad that she had me do that because I think it really helped me bounce back quickly.

Yesterday was a good day and Lilly and I were able to spend a lot of alone time together just bonding. It was fabulous. Doug came by at about 5 pm to get us and then we got Sophia from his brother's house (thanks again to everyone who watched her!) and then we came home. We had a pretty good night last night and again are so glad that our new little girl is here safe and sound. Hope you're all doing well! Enjoy the too many pictures and video of Sophia and her new little sister "Willy"!
