Happy Day of Love!

We had a fun time celebrating the day of love yesterday! The girls woke up to cupcakes and valentine coloring books. For breakfast we had heart shaped red velvet pancakes and heart shaped eggs.Sophia got a heart shaped sandwich and cheese hearts in her lunch. We then hosted a ward playgroup where we had yummy cafe rio pork and all the fixins (thanks Liza for the idea). Thanks to everyone who came! We had about 30 moms and kids here and it was a blast! Here's Mabel with her cute heart clip that obviously didn't stay in her hair long.
The kids got to decorate cookies too which was a lot of messy fun. Here's my cousins cute son feeding Mabel some frosting. How nice.Mabel partied a little too hard and fell asleep at her chair. I feel bad these are the only pictures I got! Oh well. The girls and I put together a little candy poster for Doug. It was fun to come up with a different candy to represent all of us.Here's the Sophia with hearts in her hair. They didn't turn out as good as they did last year. Oh well. Here's what awaited Doug when he got home. The cute framed "i love u" came from my cute cousin's wife who makes the most darling jewelry and decor. You HAVE to check out her stuff. Our hoers d'oeuvres included yummy jalapeno popper dip, chili-chocolate covered strawberries (sprinkled with sea salt)and this super yummy blood orange sparkling lemonade (from Sunflower Market. This stuff is delish!)Doug made the main dish which was chicken cordon blue with sun dried tomatoes (for a little red love), asparagus and homemade cheese sauce. It was super yummy! Way to go Doug! He also brought home my favorite Chili's molten lava cake but we were so stuffed that we decided to save it for another night.

He also gave me some gorgeous hydrangeasand an exclusive membership to an "Around the World Chocolate of the Month Club" a la Doug. This month he picked chocolates from the Rocky Mountains (Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory). This guy definitely knows how to please this lady (lets just hope he still loves me when I weigh 300 lbs). Everything was super yummy (I may or may not have had some for breakfast) and I definitely feel loved.

We then settled down to watch Flipped. Cutest movie ever. If you haven't seen it yet you definitely have to check it out. It's one of my favs. I hope your day was filled with love and chocolate as well!

Fun day!
I'm trying to picture that many people in your home for lunch. Sorry we missed it.
Love you!

Seriously. Doug always outdoes himself (and everyone else)! He is so creative!

And wow that is a lot of people for playgroup. You were BRAVE to let the kids have pink and red icing. :)
