This past weekend we went to the Provo Library for the Children's Book Festival to see Kevin Henkes. It was awesome! Sophia came with me on Friday night to hear him speak.
It was such a neat opportunity. He was lucky enough to find a publisher when he was 19 (in 1980) and is currently working on his 49th book! He's also won 5 awards (including a Newberry, Caldecott and Geisel). Amazing!
Yesterday we all went again to take part in the activities!

Because he's written a few books about Lilly the mouse, and there's a Sophie (and a Jo) in a "Weekend with Wendell" Sophia felt bad for Lewis and Mabel so she drew pictures of them as mice. Too cute.
She also wrote this when she was waiting for him to come out. She's hilarious.
Of course we had to take advantage of the book signing. Such a neat opportunity!
We also were lucky enough to see some of our friends there and see the Lilly we saw in the play a few weeks ago!
