Funny FHE

Our amazing Primary chorister (who also builds her own furniture, takes amazing pictures, and is expecting her 4th boy - yahoo!) always does the greatest things during singing time. She's been known to do such things as spin the teacher and wear eyeballs on her head to get the kids to pay attention to her. Oh how I love to be serving in Primary because I get to enjoy what she comes up with! Yesterday was no exception. She had a box of dress ups and she passed around a little stuffed animal while all the kids sang. If the music stopped the child holding the animal had to say the next line of the song. If they got it right, she had to put a dress up on. The kids thought it was great. Apparently my child thought it was so great that it's what she picked to do for FHE. While I was cleaning up dinner she came out of her room with a big handful of dress ups and a little stuffed dog. She instructed everyone to sit down and pass the dog while we sang "My Eternal Family" aka "I am a Builder". She then told us when she said stop you had to keep singing the song and then you got to put on a dress up. She totally cracks me up. Here was the final result. All Doug got was the Eeyore ears. Apparently I'm a little too big for the little purple dress. Thanks for a fun FHE idea Stacy!
After FHE we pulled out some possible halloween costume ideas. I'm not one to keep a secret so I don't mind putting these out here. The tinkerbell costume is left over from my niece Jane and was meant to be for Lilly. It was a little big for her and a perfect fit for Sophs so she's now Tinkerbell. The skunk costume was from Sophia's first halloween (our little stinker) and is a perfect fit for Lilly. Doug decided we're doing a Peter Pan theme. I'm up for wearing a blue nightgown. Anyone have access to an adult size Peter Pan costume? I really don't want to make one (but now that I will anyway). We've already got the red hair to go with it.

Fun Weekend

Saturday we went to my parents to help with the pressing of the apples. My parents have quite a few apple trees and a few years ago my brilliant dad purchased an apple press so that we could have fresh juice every year. This is a fast growing tradition in my family and definitely one I look forward to this year! We were so excited the Minnesota now turned Utah Millers were able to join us! They were very hard workers and we all had a great time!

Andy spent about 3 hours on the grinder. He was amazing!
Maddy did a good job cranking the press. That was no easy job.
Ben took charge of washing the apples and did a great job as well.
Here's Maddy with the final product. We ended up with about 13 gallons and barely made a dent in the crop. I'm looking forward to more weekends of apple pressing!
These two cuties helped by getting in the way and being cute.
Later we headed up to Salt Lake to see these guys play.
These cuties came with us. We had a great time. It was such a fun show (minus the fact that after they sang the first song they had to quickly get off the stage because of some glitch). Luckily they came back on! During the "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" song they blasted confetti out to the audience. It was pretty cool. A Dustland Fairytale is by far my favorite song by them.
I also greatly enjoyed the General Relief Society meeting! Fun to hear about the new changes with the Relief Society Meetings. I think I enjoyed Sis. Thompson's talk the most. I love her positive attitude and I'll be sure to "mind the gap" from now on.

How Cute!

I just got throught making these cute pumpkins I saw on TV today. I thought they turned out pretty cute.

One can never have too many fall decorations. They were super easy to make too!
Also, My cute pregnant sister who claims she's brainless (and also just found out she's having her third boy!) had this on her blog the other day. It may come as a shocker to a few of you but I'm not so much a cat lover so this made me cry (because I was laughing so hard). Thanks again for the laugh sista!

Web Finds

I recently found these things online and thought I'd pass them along:

ABC Church Cards. I just got back from getting these laminated and am looking forward to using them tomorrow. I don't know about you but I am always looking for more things to keep my cute girls entertained during sacrament meeting.

Yummiest Popcorn Ever! If you've had Moose Munch from Harry and David this is very similar. I'm sure some of you have seen this before but I recenlty discovered this website and It's becoming a quick favorite (the website and the popcorn). I've already made a few batches of this popcorn and my house has smelled like Christmas each time. I also added a little bit of milk chocolate as well to make it a little extra delicious. I love it!

Have you hear about this woman? You can also read more about her here. I think she's nuts and a little bit motivating at the same time. I'm going to take the 18 day challenge (which I plan on making last more that 18 days). How bout you?

Preschool, Dancing, and Soccer

Sophia started preschool again and is loving it! I'm so happy for her and so glad that she goes to such a great preschool. Here she is on her first day.Today she came home wearing two friendship bracelets. Her teacher had made one of them and the other one was made out of licorice. She also came home with this picture. I totally love all the little faces! The ears are my favorite. Some of those names are pretty crazy. Renik? It's crazy that there are two Sophia's too. Unfortunately this most likely won't be the first time she'll be Sophia W. in her class. Who knew her name would be the name of the year for 2005? I certainly didn't.

She's also loving her dance class. Here's her picture from last year when they did their daddy dance.
She also is doing soccer this year and that's been a lot of fun. I get to be her coach too. The kids are such a hoot! I always laugh my head off at the games. It's hillarious how they all stick together and how one of them falls down the rest of the team goes with them. It totally cracks me up. And no, I might look like it but I'm not pregnant. Just still workin on losin that baby weight. Still. I recently started spinning again and I'm loving it! Let's hope it does good things for me!
Here's some action shots of the little soccer star.

What the girls are up to

We were lucky enough to have these awesome friends grace us with their presence this week while Kevin came down to take the CPA exam (Doug is sending his application off tomorrow by the way - it's only been a year since he graduated but who's counting! (there were a number of factors involced as well)). Anyway, the girls were having a fun time out coloring on the sidewalk and playing in the sand. I went out there later and found this. I love seeing Sophia's writings.

Her latest thing is to figure out how this name is spelled. I think she's getting closer. If only there weren't so many L's in it. She also started dance again this week. She has to take from a different person this year because of a preschool conflict (that no longer exists - long story). Her best little friend Rachel is in the same class and she's thrilled. Her dance is also at the same place she has preschool so she just stays an extra hour on Mondays. I think it will work out great!
This picture is from her first day of dance last year. Look how much she's grown!
She's also doing soccer this year and I get to be her coach. They've had a few games and it's been such a blast! It cracks me up how quickly the kids all bunch up and trip over each other. There is seriously about 1 of them on the ground at all times because of how much they trip and fall over. It cracks me up!
Here's a random of my cute girls (sorry it's a little fuzzy). They love to wear these hats and chase each other around. Thanks again Erin!
Last but not least, we decided it was time to put a little bit of this up around our house. This is absolutely my favorite time of year! I would totally be content with fall year round. I did refrain from any Halloween decorations. We'll wait a few more weeks (or days maybe) for that.
