CA/Oregon Trip - Oregon

Awhile ago we had the crazy idea to drive up to Oregon to visit Doug's sister and then travel down the California coast and end up in Disneyland.  We finally got crazy enough to see the idea through and had a good and crazy trip!! We left early a few weeks ago - like 4 am early.  Here we are all ready to go!
I thought this little boy would go right back to sleep but he didn't.  He finally fell asleep around 4:00 in the afternoon...
The first place we were headed to was Crater Lake.  This is about 60 miles north of Doug's sister's house.  The drove up was absolutely stunning.  So green!!!
Unfortunately when we got there it was quite cold and foggy.
Here's the overlook to the lake.  From the pictures it looks gorgeous.  We'll have to catch it another time though!
We made it to his sisters house that evening and had a yummy dinner and then went to bed.  The next morning we went on a tour to Harry and David.
It was so fun to be here and to go on a tour!
All the cousins waiting for the tour bus.
We went to their headquarters where they package all their gift boxes and baskets.  It was pretty cool to see.  It went on forever.  Such fun packages!
Here's where they package their delicious pears.  That was fun to watch too.
And of course we had to do a little shopping and picked up some yummy treats.
After that we went to an awesome science museum called Scienceworks.
The kids all absolutely loved it.  The bubble room was their favorite!! They could have spent hours there.
Sophia and Lilly trying out the pulley system.
This wind machine was fun to play with too!

We also had some fun with circuits.  There was a bunch of cool exhibits and we had a lot of fun there. We were there for about 4 hours but could have easily spent the whole day!
Here's Sophia enjoying a delicious Harry and David pear. They were huge!! And delicious.
The next day we headed down to California to the Redwood Forest.  The minute we saw the ocean we had to stop. The kids could not resist the water. It was a little cold but gorgeous!
Then we went to the Trees of Mystery

We went on a couple of the trails and saw some cool trees.

The Cathedral Tree was pretty cool.

We also rode the sky trail to the top of the mountain which was pretty cool.  Pretty amazing views!

And of course the trip would not have been complete without a trip through the drive through tree.
On the way back to her house we drove through another part of the forest and saw some pretty spectacular trees. They were so huge!!
They were seriously gorgeous.  I loved the ferns too.  They were everywhere!
The next morning we said goodbye to cousins and headed for the California Coast.
We stopped on the way to see the Medford, OR temple.
We also told our kids we had a little surprise for them.  Once the cat was out of the bag they were so excited!
