OR/CA Trip - California Coast Day 3 - Santa Cruz to Carmel

After Pigeon Point we drove to Santa Cruz and spent the night there.  The next morning we headed straight for the beach before continuing on.  There was another cool lighthouse there.  I did not tire of seeing those!
So fun running from the waves!
We saw some cool birds and another harbor seal came swimming by at this beach.
After that we went to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz. It was crazy!  We hiked up this huge hill to this crazy cabin.
They told some story about how the cabin slid down this hill and showed all these crazy things. Most of it was pretty crazy but the more we thought about it we're pretty sure it was all optical illusions.
Here I am standing on the wall.
And Sophia standing straight up on a table.  She's not leaning forward. It was just the angle of everything that made it crazy.
Here's the outside of the cabin.
And here's the cabin when I angle it straight with my phone.  They did all sorts of crazy things with this angle too to show people looking shorter and taller.
 Here's another illusion.
Doesn't Mabel look so much shorter here? Crazy.
It did not disappoint and was a fun thing to see.
After that we drove straight down to Monterey to see the aquarium there.  Cannery row was so cute and fun to see. Definitely a place I want to go back to someday!
The aquarium was so cool!! We saw so many fun things!
These sand dollars were pretty spectacular.
These sea pens were cool too.
 This was Lewis' favorite part.
 So many minnows!
This big tank was amazing.  We could have watched it for hours.
There were cool sayings like this everywhere too.  I loved them.
Our favorite part was probably all the jellyfish.  There were so many of them!
The kelp forest was cool too.
Such a fun place to go to and I 'm so glad we went.  After the aquarium we drove down to Carmel where we were staying for the night.  We drove through Carmel By The Sea really quick and it was gorgeous!! It reminded me of Park City but on the coast.  This beach was gorgeous.  My sister-in-law said it's her favorite spot on the planet so we had to see it. It was truly beautiful.
 Beach family selfie!
Another shot of the water from this beach.
One of the cute little shops.  They were all so quaint and had so much character.  I loved it!
We totally lucked out on this fun hotel since it was the off season.  My girls loved that there was a cow by the pool.
The pool was amazing! We were sad we weren't staying there longer.
The foliage was amazing too!! Such a fun place!
