So I will be the first to admit Canadian geography is not my strongest suit. As I've watched the Olympics these past few weeks I totally thought Vancouver was right above New York. (I think I got it confused with Toronto - I guess I do know where one place in Canada is). Tonight when I saw this house was for sale in West Vancouver I thought that was weird because I thought Twilight was filmed by Washington. Good thing this map cleared things up for me. I've really got to brush up on our neighbors to the north.
Speaking of the olympics, Doug and I watched curling the other night and it is actually a pretty intense sport. I'll admit we started watching it to have something to make fun of but we seriously got into it. We watched Great Brittain vs. Canada and it was seriously intense. We couldn't believe how much skill it took and it we thought it was almost a little bit like pool. You should watch it next time it's on. It's a crazy sport!

A Slave like Me
Sorry for the million posts today! I wanted to write quick about a funny thing tonight. Just to give a little background, about a week ago Sophia was on her nightly "I don't want to go to bed" ritual and she was complaining about how she just wanted to be big like a mom and that she didn't want to be a kid anymore. I told her I'd happily trade her places and that I'd love to be a kid. She asked me why and I told her that there's just a lot that mom's have to do that kids don't have to. Apparently she's really been pondering this because she keeps bringing it up. The other night she asked why I wanted to be a kid again and I told her because there's a lot that mom's have to do. She asked what things and I told her that I had to get her and Lilly dressed every day and get them food and get them everything they need and on and on and on.
Well, tonight we were reading scriptures about when King Laman let Zeniff and his people live in his land becuase he wanted them to be his slaves. She asked what slave meant and I told her it was a person who did everything for other people. Her obvious response: "Oh. Like you."
P.S. This same sweet child also asked her sister "do I need to pull your hair?" and "do I need to break your body?" today. She's so thoughtful to at least ask first.
Pillows and Ponies
First off, congrats to my sis Melissa and her newest bundle of JOY! Lucas Miller Burr (I think that's his full name) was born yesterday to two happy brothers and two awesome parents. Can't wait to meet you!
So that last pillow I made got me excited to make more. I think they turned out okay. They definitely spruce up the couch. The one on the far right turned out to be such a bad seventh grade sewing project that you only get to see the back. I think I 'm going to put a row of big black buttons in top half to make it more interesting.

Tax Season Projects
Now that tax season is in full swing I am well underway with projects. My mom and I have been attending quilt classes at a local quilt shop and this is our latest project. It's a Three Bears quilt and it's really cute! Here's the first few blocks.
Here's what it's supposed to look like when we're all done.
My friends and I got together the other night to attempt these pillows found on this fun site. They sure looked cute but they were kind of a pain to make! Don't look too closely at mine. Gathering is not my favorite I discovered. At least I gave it a try! I'm planning on making more pillows to coordinate in our living room but they will definitely not be like this.

My Valentines
We had a great weekend and it was nice to have a minute with my valentine in the midst of tax season. He came home from working in the morning on Saturday with these three beauties. He said he got one for each of his valentines. It was cute and the girls were thrilled.
That afternoon we went to the BYU vs. Air Force game. BYU won by about 40 points but the best part was they scored over 80 points which meant a free piece of chocolate cake from Magelby's. Oh happy day! After the game we went and hung out at a few music stores and picked out some cd's (we're so old school). I couldn't remember the last time I'd been shopping in a store with my husband and no kids. It was so nice! We then went to Mimi's and had a yummy dinner. Thanks again to Grandma and Grandpa Miller for watching our kids for so long!
Here's a few of the cute valentine girls on valentines day. We were lucky enough to have one of Doug's siblings come in town for the weekend and we had dinner with them. It was so great! We didn't tell Sophia they were coming and she was ecstatic to see her cousins again. They had a blast playing together!

Valentine Boquet
We had a fun play date yesterday with a few of my college roomies. Lauren had all this fun valentine stuff for the kids to do as well as fun valentine decorations in her house that inspired me. I went to Michael's on my way home and picked up some fun stuff. I got a cute wooden heart wreath for $3 that I was pretty excited about. I also picked up a few boquets of roses for $1 and a little ceramic container for about $2. I came home and made this cute little thing with other stuff I had at home. It's fun because it can be a little rose topiary
Hooray for cute cheap crafts!
Here's a bonus picture for this post. This is the way my girls eat breakfast everyday. Forget trying to get them to eat at the table. They prefer to keep their bottoms warm by sitting on the heater vents (you can't really see the one Sophia is sitting on). This is seriously the first place they go to in the morning. Cracks me up.

Kitchen Helper
I was making meatballs yesterday and Sophia wanted to write down the recipe so she asked me what I was putting in it. After a little while I got tired of spelling everything for her so when I got to breadcrumbs, I handed her the can to copy it from. I looked at her list later and saw:
EGGS
BEEEEF
MILK
SOALT
PEPER
PROGRESSO
I thought I had done a good job of pointing out where "Bread Crumbs" was written. Apparently not. She totally cracks me up. That Progresso sure added some good flavor.

Lilly's ABC's
Here's Lilly saying a few of her letters. I particularly like what she calls the letter V.

Here's why she calls the letter V what she calls it. We sure love Rusty and Rosy's ABC's! I didn't realize she had it memorized until she sang the whole thing the other day.

Mom I'm so beautiful!
Sophia came up to me today to show me the beautiful job she did on her hair. She informed me she wants to be a hair fixer when she grows up.
She did a pretty good job with Lilly's hair too.
Fun Stuff
My cute friend Lauren has a fun garden blog where she posts fun things like how to grow wheat grass. We tried it last week and it was so fun! It grew so fast and the girls had fun cutting it down today.
Last weekend we went to the zoo with Sophia's friend Rachel. It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be and the kids had a great time.

My Groundhog Day Prediction
"I think he's going to go back to sleep. He's going to eat carrots. He will go back to sleep because he needs to take a nap" - Sophia
